Small-boat-logo-reduced.jpg
Sea Masters Sailing Center is a fantastic place to learn how to sail or to get back on the water if you are returning to the sport. Adult sailing classes are taught on RS QUEST boats.  Our programs provide a structured learning path for the students to follow as they develop their sailing skills from a peaceful light-air dinghy sailing to heavy air high performance racing.

Small boat sailing is a simple, inexpensive way to get started in the sport. The fundamental basics of sailing are most easily learned in small boats. Many small boats are designed specifically for youth, and most provide a lifetime of enjoyment for adults as well. Generally, small boats, are under 25 feet in length. They include a wide assortment of dinghies, daysailers, multihulls, and small keelboats. Because of their size and simplicity, many small sailboats can be sailed by just one,two or three people.

BASIC KEELBOAT

If you are looking to learn how to sail on a more stable platform, small keelboats might be the way to go for you. This type of boat has a weighted keel that counter-balances the force on the sails. This is a learn-to-sail course. No prior experience is required. You will learn the fundamental principles of safe, confident day sailing on a keelboat ranging from 18- to 27-feet in length in light to moderate winds. Enjoy a beautiful day on the water and see your confidence rise from day one to that of a competent sailor by the end of the course. OPTIONAL: You may obtain an official license from Autoridad Marítima de Panamá (“Operador De Lancha 2da Clase hasta 12 metros”) which allows you to legally operate a sailing or power vessel in Panama waters.
