Sailing Camps are available for boys and girls from 8 to 16 and is an ideal introduction to the basics of sailing. Sailing Camp is is an ideal introduction to our year-round program. We hope that the sailors who learn to sail during the Sailing Camp will continue as members of the Sea Masters Academy Panama (SMAP) racing team.



Our camps run three times per every year on:

  • January

  • June, July and August

  • December-Santas Gone Sailing Camp special edition


Participants must:

  • Be a child between 8 and 18 years old of age

  • Complete a swim check administered the first day. 

  • The child must be able to comfortably swim 25 yards

  • Wear a USCG-approved personal flotation device (PFD), which we will provide, at all times while on the water.


Typical schedule per session:

  • Monday to Friday

  • 8:00AM to 4:00PM

  • One or two-weeks sessions

  • Sailing

  • Land games

  • Swimming pool games

  • Trail exploration

  • Environmental lessons

What's Included
  • Transportation back and forth from Panama City (for camps at Shelter Bay Marina only)

  • Lunch & snacks

  • Equipment: sailboat and PFD -personal flotation device

  • T-shirt & SMAP sticker

  • Photos & videos

What To Bring
  • Sunblock

  • Hat

  • Sunglasses if available

  • Swimwear

  • Towel

  • Change of clothes

  • Land shoes and water shoes

2024 Mid-year Sailing Camps


  • Prior sailing experience is NOT required

  • Able to swim 50 yards 

  • Sunglasses and hat are recommended

  • Refillable water bottle

  • Sailing boots or shoes that can get wet.

  • Come to class on time

  • Listen to the Coach

  • Have fun!
