Adult Small Boat Level 1
Description
Perfect for complete beginners or those looking to brush up on the fundamentals, this 4-week course offers a fun and supportive introduction to sailing.
We sail on RS Quests — large, stable dinghies that comfortably fit up to four sailors, making them an ideal platform for learning. Their size and stability give beginners the confidence to focus on developing skills without worrying about the boat.
Over the four weeks, sailors will cover a wide range of fundamental skills including rigging, points of sail, tacking, launching, and landing. Each of these builds on the last, giving you a strong and well-rounded foundation to progress from.
Classes run on Sunday mornings from 9:30AM to 12:30PM or afternoons from 3:00PM to 6:00PM depending on the weather forecast — one 3-hour lesson per week. Attendance at all four lessons is required to progress to the next block, as a minimum of 8 lessons must be completed to finish the full Level 1 curriculum.
Please note that this course may run alongside our Junior RS Quest Development course, as both programs share the RS Quest.
