This program has been designed to fulfill your child’s interest in sailing and to raise their skills and enthusiasm to propel them to the next level. We have assembled a responsible team to guide them. The program director and head-coach is a Certified Sailing Instructor from US SAILING (The National Governing Body for the sport of sailing in the United States and one of the leading organizations in the sailing world) and an accomplished sailor and yachtsman with the capabilities and interest in advancing your child’s sailing abilities. Is our mission to inspire and motivate your young sailor. 


The primary goals of the S.M.A.P. Learn To Sail are as follow: 


  • To provide a fun platform to teach sailing skills and safe sailing practices, from 

fundamental to expert levels 

  • To instill a love of sailing as a lifetime sport and as an arena to forge lifelong friendships

  • To teach young sailors the “Corinthian Spirit” of behavior and how to act with respect for others, their equipment, and the marine environment; including a willingness to help fellow sailors on and off the water. 

  • To nurture a sense of self-confidence, self-reliance, seamanship knowledge and an 

appreciation of team-work through a solid foundation in sailing. 


The skills children will learn:

  • Wind awareness & weather

  • Basic parts of the boat

  • Points of sail

  • Sailing terminology

  • Knots

  • Tacking

  • Gybing

  • Upwind & Downwind sailing

These are the classes offered for 2021,these classes will introduce the basic concepts of sailing, while focusing on building sailors’ confidence in rigging and controlling their own boat



It is aimed for children ages 7 to11/12  where they’re taught the basics of sailing in an environment that focuses on fun and boating safety. Participants will learn sailing skills, terminology, and knots by means of games and activities, both on and off the water.. Children must know how to swim and have an adult guardian on-site during the lesson!



The RS QUBA is aimed for kids 12 - 15 yrs old. It has space for two sailors, yet small enough for convenient single-handing (one sailor). It's the perfect entry level boat for young sailors learning to sail. 



The RS QUEST is aimed for kids 15+ yrs old. It has space for up to four sailors, yet small enough for convenient double-handed sailing (two sailors). It's the perfect entry level boat for young sailors learning to sail all the up to racing.
